Nabil Abbas is an architect and construction consultant. He holds a Ph.D. in construction engineering and management from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow (UK), has a post-graduate degree in Islamic Studies and a Bsc in Architecture. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the FIDIC Arabic translation committee of construction contracts (2007-2013), which so far has translated seven of FIDIC's suite of contracts. He is one of only four Arab accredited FIDIC trainers and the only GCC national. He is a member of FIDIC’s new trainers’ assessment committee. He is a Registered Arbitrator and was appointed as co-arbitrator, sole arbitrator or expert witness in over 330 cases in construction projects. He has published 32 technical papers as well as two books.
